Gene was rescued from Monroe GA animal shelter. He has no teeth and the longest tongue! He was named Gene after Gene Simmons of KISS fame due to his long tongue. He has to be hand fed and since his eyesight is not so good we have to be sure he doesn't get lost outside. When he does he will just curl up and go to sleep, we're always afraid he'll get stepped on he's so small.

Gene understands what we say but can get engrossed in what he's doing and not hear us calling. He has us trained to let him in and out whenever he asks as well as putting him in his spot on the couch (or bed) when he is ready.

Just like the little old man he is, when he wakes up he has to go out - even if it's 10 min after the last time. He has us trained on his schedule but is still trying to convince us to take him on every car trip.
