UPDATE

Ghetti is currently fostered in NJ, Lawrenceville area. She is fostered together with her sister Gidget. Ghetti is a happy puppy who loves to explore the outside as well as the house. She might come off as shy at first, but if you give her time, she'll warm up to you quickly. Ghetti loves to come up to you and asks for cuddles and playtime. She is walking nicely on a leash, is basically house trained if you follow a strict schedule and let her out frequently. She is very smart and even picked up some basic commands. Ghetti is also crate trained, just like her sister. We think the best home for Ghetti would be any home with dog lovers who understand that a shyer dog needs more time to warm up. But if you gained her trust, she'll be loyal and love you with all her heart.

————————————————————————————

Ghetti and her five sisters had been abandoned at a dumpster site and found by a Wheeler Co sanitation worker. The young pups, approximately 3 months old at the time, were terrified, hungry and very much in need of some help.. While all six were extremely wary of the sanitation worker, he was able to gather them all up and took them to his home. The sanitation worker then contacted SoCo Rescue seeking help for the pups. When Scott Bennett went to meet the pups, he was horrified at not only the living conditions of the pups- a makeshift, very unclean and muddy outdoor kennel area, he knew that one of the pups were very close to dying if she didn't receive immediate help. To keep that pup from being alone, Scott also took one of the others as well. The sanitation worker explained that the kennel hadn't been used in "a long time" and was the only place that he had to keep the pups until help could be found. The man also said his work schedule limited his time to feed the pups to only once a day.

Over the next week, Scott took on the responsibility of making sure the remaining four pups were fed, watered and had their living area cleaned twice a day. He also began administering de-wormers, vaccinations and other much needed medications. After about a week, the four remaining pups were reunited with their two sisters at SoCo Rescue.

Ghetti was one of the pups that Scott took home after first meeting them. While not the worst off, Ghetti provided companionship to her smallest sister who was very close to dying without immediate care. Ghetti has continued to be a sweet, loving soul who shows a real desire to be your friend, she just needs someone to give her a chance, a little time and a whole lot of love.

Ghetti has now been spayed, received an update on her annual vaccinations, been de-wormed and treated against paasites. We've also started her on her monthly preventatives.

Applications for the adoption of Ghetti should be submitted at socorescue.com
