Mona was one of two adult dogs that came to our rescue from the same location in Feb 2016. Mona had recently had a litter of puppies, which we attempted to save. Unfortunately not all of her puppies survived, most likely because Mona, herself, was undernourished while she was nursing them. Mona was given temporary refuge by a compassionate family but then they were forced to give her up. Mona came to us heartworm positive and in need of some time to regain her health, which resulted in her extended stay with us. 

Mona is a compact Bulldog mix with a beautiful brindle color to her. She's a bundle of fun and loves to play but can also be a very calm, laid-back girl. Mona plays well with other dogs and would be good with older children as her energy level may be too much for young children. She does still "teeth play" but doesn't bite.

We've recently discovered that Mona is also crate trained and typically doesn't defecate inside her sleeping area. This trait exhibits a basic knowledge of house training but Mona may need additional training to fully master the skill.

Mona has now been fully vetted, kept up to date with her yearly vaccinations, monthly preventatives and de-wormings. She was treated for her heartworms in July/August of 2018.
